App Review: ColorSchemer

I have to admit it: I’m a total iPhone addict. I wish I wasn’t, because I know it’s antisocial/probably a waste of time/etc but the apps are just so fun! When I came across ColorSchemer on the ‘suggested apps’ page of my Diploma I couldn’t resist taking a look. An app that lets me make colour schemes from scratch or using photos? Yes please!IMG_0804

The ColorSchemer app is available on the iTunes App Store for free, which is wonderful! ColorSchemer is really easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it even has a fun page where you can view other users colour schemes. The ‘community’ element of the app itself isn’t great, with only basic ‘like’ and ‘share’ options as far as I’ve discovered, but the COLOURlovers website hosts a full community area to share colour schemes and chat to other users, just log in with your ColorSchemer username!

There are several ways of creating a colour scheme; using the ‘colour wheel’, ‘LiveSchemes’, Spectrum, and my absolute favorite; PhotoSchemer. Using the PhotoSchemer you can upload your own photo to the app and pick out colours which are automatically matched to the apps bank of colours and put into a scheme. I thought I’d share a few of my own colour scheme creations to show what the app can do. Be warned, I didn’t take these schemes too seriously so some of the photos are a bit silly!

Have you ever used ColorSchemer? What do you think of it?
