Hi, I’m KiKi Bush, a 21 year old who has a not-so-secret obsession with interiors, home design and everything that makes a house lovely!

Three years ago I moved North from my home with my parents in London to live in Birmingham. I’ve loved it so much here I’m staying for another year. I currently live in a rented house, which you can check out here, but soon I’ll be moving with two of my housemates to a new flat. To keep up to date with The Big Move, click here. Following the move, in September I hope to start a masters degree in Journalism so that one day I can work for an interior design magazine.

I’ve just completed my English with Creative Writing BA (a 2.1 with a first in my dissertation, oh yeah!) and I’m currently studying for a Diploma in Professional Interior Design at the National Design Academy. To read about my experience of the diploma so far, you can view my post here. You can also view my diploma work here.

North Leads To Home began in October 2012 when I decided to put my interest (and degree!) in creative writing and my life long enchantment with interior design together. Since October, this little blog has grown thanks to the wonderful blogging community and my participation in Holly Becker’s Blogging Your Way: Blog Boss course, and

At the moment I’m putting together an e-magazine with the first edition launching in June. Follow NLTH Magazine on twitter to keep up to date with the magazine.

Plus, the North Leads To Home Etsy shop will be launching soon, selling upcycled and salvaged items.

I hope you enjoy reading North Leads To Home as much as I enjoy writing it.

  1. I’m a HUGE fan of upcycling!! HUGE!! Sometimes when I see vintage pieces that have been given a new lease of (upcycled) life I just want to hug them. Yes, I’m publicly admitting to wanting to hug chairs n stuff! 🙂

  2. Hi, thanks for checking out my blog =) I’m in a somewhat related situation, working in an unrelated area to interior design despite huge interest. But I’m also thinking about doing courses, may I ask what home study course you’re doing and whether you like it?

  3. I just stumbled across your blog I love it! definitely same interests with interior design Im studying my diploma in it now and decorating my rental too! although it seems a little less restricted here in Australia I am always putting up new pics on my wall.

    Steph 🙂
