I’m moving in three months (eek!) but until then, this is my room in a house that I rent with three of my best friends. As you can see, it’s quite cluttered with furniture but once I move I should have enough room for the items that are mine and I’ll take with me, such as they keyboard, which honestly just doesn’t fit anywhere properly.
1. cupboard above the stairs, 2. wardrobe, 3. whatnot (mine), 4. chest of draws, 5. desk, 6. bed, 7. chest of draws (mine).
I love my chest of draws. It’s taken a lot of work to be happy with the display area, but I think it’s finally getting there. It’s so much fun to add items and change them around. It’s lovely that I have a little space to create vignettes within my room.
My desk is always cluttered! As an English student I have so many books from my course that I don’t have enough room for. My shelves are really messy, but once I move I’ll have less books and more room to display my items in a less mish-mash way. The inspiration board behind my desk is actually a great bonus on the back of the cover for Decorate Workshop by Holly Becker, of Decor8. I thought it was so pretty and really inspirational. Spot the little card from Papermash, which I received with my pretty purchases from them.My new bedding is available here, and I love how much it brightens up the room. My pillow and wall art are from Thailand, while the two posters were from my university poster fairs. The ‘drink vodka and get drunk’ one isn’t really my style anymore, but it reminds me of my room when I was a Fresher and all the fun memories I have of that year. It’s safe to say it won’t be in my room once I move, but for now it’s staying!Storage boxes have become a bit of an obsession. Store Twenty One is a local shop to us that sells affordable but adorable homeware. I have so many cosmetics and accessories that I don’t want to display, and storage boxes are the perfect way to hide clutter while adding a bit of style. Store Twenty One gets new stock very regularly, which means almost every time I go in there there’s something new to look at. It also means that I have an ever growing collection of beautiful boxes!
Downstairs at the back of the house is the ‘communal area’, which consists of a living room which leads into a wide galley kitchen, and a downstairs bathroom. Here are a couple of pictures:
